lots of newness! i had my first official gallery opening on the 10th of july at aperture gallery in salt lake city. more info here. what a fantastic event! much food, drink, friends, live music and more. pictures to follow soon! all credit goes to one of my dearest, ms. heidi gress who not only forced me to get out of my comfort zone, but put the whole event together. bless her. the show can still be seen through the month by appointment, or you can catch a second opening again on gallery stroll this upcoming friday, july 17th. there are some very talented artists in there, i highly recommend it!!

my favorite, favorite event ever took place last weekend out towards the spiral jetty. craig and i decided to spend the night out there for a grand adventure. only, we left at 10:30 in the p.m., and got hopelessly lost. in the desert. on bad dirt roads. oh but what a time we had! both my front tires blew out and we laughed and laughed and laughed. we curled up in the back of my truck for a few hours sleep, woke up early and started walking. and walking. and walking. we had lots of water, a bagel, and plenty of sunscreen. after about 4-5 hours we reached the golden spike museum, got freshened up and called a tow truck. got new tires, got to salt lake and stuffed our faces at coachman's. some of the best parts can not even be explained at all. but my brain will always think sweetly of this wonderful adventure of being lost in the desert. even though we never did see the spiral jetty!
